to learn about the success of your tomato plants.
Their birth place construction by you was very ,very funny (and interesting), so your tomatos are obligated to do their best.

I discovered last year that growing my own tomatoes was much more expensive than just picking them up at the Safeway or local roadside stand. Of course the satisfaction of growing one's own counts for something.

Your solution for the high cost of wood seems very palletable though still time intensive.
On your next visit to Home Depot buy some sheets of lattice and fasten the growing tomato plants to them for support. Nothing like lattice and tomatoes, I say.

Super Idea. It must be close to last frost date for Chicago. Time to put out the tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers. Use as big a pot as you can, at least 12", but 16" is better. A basil seed or two in each pot will help keep insects away, and provide lots of fresh basil leaves for salads and sauces.
