Sorry you didn't like the list. Of course I don't expect everyone to agree with me, so I'm glad you commented. As for the length of the descriptions, obviously this isn't meant to be a review of each game, so I hope you can understand why the descriptions are simply brief explanations of why each game is on the list.
I look forward to reading your own list, since you're so opinionated. Also, your review of Minesweeper.

...list. Also, very thin descriptions of each game, a couple sentences? To go out on a limb and proclaim these as the "top 10" fighting games ever...then to seemingly shrug each and every one of them off with your passive urge to tell everyone how "awesome" these "top ten" games are...by not really telling anyone anything about the games at all...speaks novels about you. The novel? Well I think you know exactly how that one goes...don't you. You live it...
Killer Instinct? Mortal Kombat II? Primal Rage?
Also, ANY fighting game can create an epic battle between 2 expert players. I've participated and watched it happen in several organized tournaments for some of these games.
You need to stick to Minesweeper.

When you think of the great fighting games ever to be released, you realize just how good that genre was represented on the Dreamcast.

I like Tekken for quick blasts with friends, but when two people who know how to play Virtua Fighter go at it, you get some epic battles. Honestly, if they could both share the top spot, they would. And since it's my list, I guess I can do that if I want, so maybe I'll update this...

Honestly I'm not a huge fan of 2D fighters in general, but you're right, I probably should represent SNK in there somewhere.

You have a point! I don't know what it is, but there is something about that game, especially once you know all the patterns. I prefer the Mike Tyson version where you can fight him at the end, but unfortunately there's no ear-biting.

Even though I mainly stick to boxing titles, I still love a good debate/list on fighting games.
I loved yoru list, but if I were to make one I'd have to include "Super Punchout". Every year, I come back to it and its fun again like teh first time I played it. Sure, its sorta' silly, but durn its fun.
Anyways, excellent list!!
