We owned the Cabrio washer for less than a year. One day washer dumps entire load of water on our second floor laundry room floor. Repairmen comes out, dumps about $5 in coins out from the water pump removed from the bottom of the unit. $300 repair job.
Apparently the Cabrio designers have never actually used a washer in real life, where coins occassionally get left in pockets. So the Cabrio sucks up coins out of the wash bin, they lodge in the water pump, and eventually they break a hole in the $300 pump and soak your home.
Owned washers for 20 years and never had to think about coins. With the Cabrio, I now get to spend my time carefully going through every pocket in the wash so the shiny $800 devil doesn't destroy my home and cost me another $300 washer repair. Great job Whirlpool, thanks for making soing the laundry stressful.
By the way, this wasn't the first time the repairman was out for this washer. Earlier this year, the washer went completely dead. The power cable was bad, and needed to be replaced.
Other than the looming threat of our home being destroyed by water damage and giant washer repair costs if I miss a penny in my pocket, the Cabrio washer handled big loads of clothes and was suprisingly quiet during the wash and spin cycles.
