The Bottom Line Get your 12 CD's and get out

I have joined and quit BMG several times through out my life. And as such I have gained quite a musical collection. Here is the run down:
1) You go to their site, which is clunky, awkward and slow.
2) You pick between 3 and 7 cd's which you only pay shipping and handling for (this is 2.49 per CD). The amount you get straight off varies for some reason.
3) You wait forever and finally recieve your CD's.
4) Excited about all of your new music you go ahead and order your CD that you have to pay for... this will cost you about 19.95 PLUS 2.49 for shipping and handling... oh and invariably they will have some deal running so that if you buy that one you get two more at like $5 each... Plus 2.49.
5) Now you get to order the remaining CD's that will total you up to 12. For these you will pay the 2.49 each.
NOW HERE IS THE IMPORTANT PART!!!!!!
Once you have gotten your CD's QUIT THE CLUB! You will get no more great deals out of them. And then when they call your house and try to entice you back into the club... TELL THEM NO!
And here is why.
I thought I was handling it all pretty well, I got my 12 cd's, ate the shipping and handling and even made sure to set the site up so that it wouldn't automatically send me the "featured selection" each month.
So then I get tired of it and terminate my membership.
About 2 weeks ago I get a phone call from them asking me to rejoin the club... "No thanks" I tell them. "But what if we offer you 4 free CD's if you buy one"
So I mull their offer over and finally tell them okay sure... suddenly WHAM I'm being told by a recorder that my order of Eve 6 will be sent to my house and they hang up on me.
So I'm a little annoyed at the fact that I didn't get to pick my CD, but I figure "What the heck, if it sucks I'll give it to someone for X-mas". Well my Eve 6 CD gets here, and sure enough, I've got it already wrapped.
So I check the site to see how to get my 3 free CD's. Do I find anything there? Nope... nothing, Nada about free CD's. So I sigh and figure maybe there is a promotion code that they are going to send me.
On to three days ago... I get a Cd in the mail from BMG... I'm confused as I haven't ordered anything, but I open it anyway figuring that maybe I'm totally screwed and I don't even get to pick my free CD's. Well much to my dismay, it's Madonna's "Music". And they charged it to my credit card that I had on file with them.
So now I'm enraged...I hunt through all of the promo crap that came with the CD and sure enough... there is no phone number.
So I check the website... and surprise surprise, again, on their entire website, no phone number. So I have to resort to filling out one of their forms. So I calm myself down and attempt to write very clearly what has happened. I ask that someone call me, give my phone number and send the e-mail.
Instantly I recieve an e-mail back... and here are some of the excerpts from their autoresponder.
"We'll contact you only if we need additional information"
"Should you need to follow up with customer service please do so at our website using the same customer service form as with your original inquiry"
Does this sound like a company that cares about it's customer? I can't even get a human to speak with me. I have now sent 3 emails via their "Customer Service Form" and have yet to have my issue resolved.
As of right now I am shipping back the Madonna CD, Informing my credit card to stop payment on it and have obtained the name of the CEO who will be recieving a letter from me.
I will add on to this once I achieve some sort of resolution.
My suggestion is to get your 12 cds and get out, lest you have to deal with their customer service.
And for heaven's sake do not keep a credit card on file with them!
