I've shopped at Newport News a number of times and delivery and order accuracy have generally been good. I hadn't had to deal with their customer service until the last time I ordered some items which I then had to return. I returned them according to their policy but didn't hear anything for seven weeks (I waited the 4-6 weeks before contacting them by email, according to their policy). The first email I received simply stated that it takes 4-6 weeks to process returns - they clearly hadn't read my original email stating that it was 7 weeks since they received my return. The second email I received stated that my return had been processed although I haven't seen the money arrive in my account yet. But what irked me was that the email was preceded with a petty little statement that I had used third-party discount codes which, although they had accepted as a "courtesy" according to them, were actually invalid and they had flagged my account and would be scrutinizing any future codes I used. They also stated that if I wanted valid codes I should sign up to their mailing list using their website. The bizarre thing is that I am signed up to their mailing list and they emailed me the codes (and they were not rejected when I made the online order!). I'm totally confused about the rude treatment for simply making a return and will not be shopping with them again - I can find much better customer service elsewhere and their clothes aren't all that anyway. Way to lose a customer - I would definitely have shopped with them again if it weren't for this.
