Myriads of Stars

The Bottom Line As my mind drifted toward thoughts of the ocean, these words formed…

I

Upon the quietness of a bay
where only the moon and myself are awake
both floating in a sea,
real and reflected
of myriads of stars...
has the returning Levante just folded his wings...
Softly, has he nuzzled my hand
and then my face...
a warm blend of
heartfelt thoughts
sweet scented primroses
and enthusiastic response
in his breath.
Oh, the ensuing smile...
of delight
of anticipation
of gladness
and
thanks...
thanks...
thanks...
as
in a sea, real and reflected
of myriads of stars
and dreams...
words
and words
and words
with
wonder
wonder
wonder
in them
and upon
their wings
begin to
spin
spin
spin...
a silky
enchanting
of beauty
and
marvel
epic
thread...

II

Upon the quite stillness of the sheltered bay I sit,
toes digging small trenches in the cool evening sand;
just rising moon and the sweet easterly wind my sole companions.
Tis been a day since I sent enchanted Levante,
steed of malady Harmonia, east, to frolic once more in her tender care,
with mine answer to her dare.

Soothing are the celestial lights high in the heaven,
blinking on one by one in their multitude,
as the night chases day across the heavens.

My mind is racing,
Ever racing, ever chasing words.
And my soul ever warming
Ever warming, ever storing prose,
as I ruminate on the enchanted words,
oh the words,
words,
words,
words that will flow unchecked from the minds and souls of
those most enamored of Shakespeare, and Dickens,
Frost and Wadsworth,
Vilvaldi and Bach…

Oh the prose that will be spun,
spun,
spun,
by she and I
to enchant the enchanted,
to romance the romantic,
to bring a smile to the sun on the spine of the wind,
and a glow to the moon on the wings of a monarch.
Tis marvelous indeed.

Delighted,
delighted,
delighted,
I am that I retrieved the gauntlet so softly thrown by malady…
Delighted indeed.
