***Update*** Though I've decided to leave my original review up for those who don't care about trans fat content, I felt obligated to update the review following another order we placed.
Daffy Apple includes no information on their website regarding the nutritional information of their apples or their ingredients. We ordered a batch as "favors" for Thanksgiving last year and upon receiving them, discovered that they contained partially hydrogenated oils (trans fat). Any google search will reveal the dangers of these fats and its impact and involvement in anything from allergies to cholestorol to autoimmune diseases to fertility. My husband and I have completely eliminated them from our diets in 2009 and we believe it is the reason I've lived symptom free with my MS since.
Upon discovering these ingredients, I can no longer recommend Daffy Apple. We discarded the batch as we refused to serve it to our families (most of whom also avoid trans fat) as well. I'm dissappointed that any company would use these ingredients and, moreso, disgusted that they would do so without informing their consumers.

Choosing wedding favors can be a grueling task. Favors are common, almost expected in my family/circle. My mother-in-law still complains about the one out-of-town wedding she attended without favors. The horror! Mid-planning, my husband and I set out to find favors that would fit our wedding. We wanted to find a favor that guests would actually take home. It was also important to us that the item didn’t end up in the “garbage guilt box” – most people I know have one – the box of random trinkets (many with names and dates of celebrations on them) that you have no use for but feel too guilty to throw out The favors eventually spiraled out of control. We simply could not choose a favorite favor, so our guests received three (though surprisingly, not one person left even one behind). Caramel Apples from Daffy Apple were one of those favors and we couldn’t be happier with our choice! Website DaffyApple.com offers caramel, candy, and other gourmet apples, as well as kits for making these at home. Their website is bound to make any mouth water. They offer a wide selection of treats with every variation I could think of (white chocolate, milk chocolate, dark chocolate, etc). The website is very easy to navigate and informative. Between the product pages and the frequently asked questions, I felt that I knew everything I needed to know about the apples. Daffy apples have a two week shelf life and the site has guidelines for ordering apples based on the season and when they are needed. There were pictures and detailed descriptions of each product. Sample kits are available if you plan to buy in bulk but would like to try the apples first. There is a separate section for wedding favors that described the ordering process. Daffy Apple ships apples from September 15 through mid-may, but apples are available in bulk outside of that time frame. From January through May, there is a minimum order of 10 cases. That minimum jumps to 25 cases (600 apples) during the summer. During my time browsing this site and ordering, I encountered no broken links, errors, or slow downs. Order Experience My husband and I chose Daffy Apples after reading glowing recommendations on The Knot. We wanted to give an edible favor and caramel apples seemed perfect for a fall wedding. We chose the caramel apples with the crunch coating because it we felt it had the most widespread appeal. We didn’t have to worry about allergies since it was non-nut, and that particular variety had been raved about in reviews. The order process went smoothly. I placed my order online within the recommended timeframe; 3 weeks before our wedding. The apples are made the day before shipment and shipped three days before the wedding. We ordered 6 cases of 24 caramel apples with crunch coating, which was more than enough for our 130 guests. We chose the three-packs of apples, since Daffy Apple recommended them for customers who planned to repackage them. It was easier to remove them in threes from the packaging than it was to cut the individual packages open. We also ordered the small cellophane bags to wrap the apples in. The total order was less than $300.00, including the apples ($26.00 per case of 24), the bags, and shipping. We received a confirmation email immediately upon placing the order and a shipping confirmation four days before our wedding. The apples arrived on time, three days before the wedding. We had plenty of time to package them, which was a sticky job. It helps if you hold the bags at an angle while sliding the apples into them. We refrigerated them until the wedding. The apples looked beautiful (http://tinyurl.com/m5lvcu) and tasted even better. The coating had just the right crunch, with a sweet, satisfying flavor. The apples were perfectly fresh and had a tart, burst of flavor when you bit into them. The caramel was the perfect consistency. I don’t typically like caramel apples, but I loved these. Our guests raved about how great they were. The entire week of our honeymoon, guests called my mother to ask where the apples came from and if we had extra. They were a huge hit! I highly recommend Daffy Apple for anyone in the market for gourmet apples. Their products are delicious and a great value!
