Am I the only one with this problem? (Reply to this comment)
by galadriel_emm
My husband purchased a Lexmark Z53 in October 2001 at Circuit City to replace an HP that had programming issues. He paid $136.95 for it. Within 6 months, the printer stopped working, and it turned out to be a small plastic piece that tells the carriage where it is in relation to the sides of the printer. Because it was under warrantee, it was replaced by Lexmark with a brand new printer. The replacement, after 9 months, has developed the "lost carriage" problem, but because they go back to the original purchase date, they refuse to replace the second and there are no repair facilities in our area. We are now forced to find a new printer at a time when there is no money available in the budget for such a purchase. Before buying a new printer, we're trying to find out if this is a problem with ALL Lexmark products, or if there are other printers out there with the same structural issues.....
Feedback would be appreciated!

I started out thinking Lexmark stuff was cheap junk, but I was converted a few months ago with an inexpensive and reliable little Lexmark. Thanks for reaffirming my belief that the company makes fine little printers.

Lexmark gets no respect (in the best Rodney Dangerfield I can muster) (Reply to this comment)

I've actually had respect for Lexmark from the very beginning, but that is mostly because I knew that they were basically a spin-off of the printer division at IBM (which usually signifies quality). They never really played that part up, so many people didn't give them the respect that they deserved.

Great review!!!
