Regal Camera takes orders for products they do not have

Based on the reviews I read about Regal Camera, I had pretty low expectations, but all I needed was a camera bag, and Regal had the best price on a popular Tamrac model. They showed the product as in stock, and were $10 cheaper than any other retailer, with free shipping. I didn't need it immediately, so it didn't seem like I had much to lose. So much for trying. Ten days after ordering, I still had no shipping confirmation. I called Regal's toll-free number, they answered the phone quickly, asked for my order number, and explained to me the item had been backordered from the manufacturer. I was assured it would be in stock and would ship to me the following week. Ten days after that, I had heard nothing further. I called again, got through quickly again, and was told that the item was still back-ordered, with no delivery date in sight. I asked to cancel the order, and they did so without giving me any hassle. So, 20 days wasted with these guys. I suspect they just order these items from drop-shippers and don't carry any inventory at all. Regal Camera did answer the phone pretty quickly, but email updates were thin to non-existent, and of course they advertised and took orders for an item that they don't have and can't get. The item is still showing as in stock on their web site.
As they say, caveat emptor.
