When my now-husband and I were planning our wedding, one of the biggest obstacles we had was where to register for gifts. Since we are from Western, New York, but had guests coming from all over the country and as far away as Japan, we needed to register at a store that would be accessible to everyone. After consulting with fellow brides to be on The Ultimate Wedding Board (www.ultimatewedding.com) I decided Bed, Bath, and Beyond's Online Store would be the best. The majority of brides I spoke to on-line said they had excellent experiences with this online store and it came highly recommended.
Although I had never been inside a regular Bed, Bath, and Beyond store, I was very impressed with the HUGE selection of items for sale on their website -- everything from top of the line kitchen appliances like Krups and Cuisanart; to goose down comforters and stainless steel garbage cans. From big to small, the online store had EVERYTHING we needed to register for in one place.
Registering for gifts was very easy. You can reigster on-line or go into any one of the regular Bed, Bath, and Beyond stores nationwide. We choose to go into the store so we could actually see and touch the items. Our registry consultant was very helpful (we did not need an appointment) and gave us a scan-gun to register what we wanted. Unlike some stores where the consultant follows you around and makes you feel uncomfortable, at Bed, Bath, and Beyond you are thankfully left alone, but can go get the consultant if you have a question.
Although we registered "in store," we made many changes to our registry on-line. This was VERY EASY. As our wedding approached, we were able to add or delete items from our registry with the click of a mouse. We did not have to actually go into the store at all. Also, our guests found the online store and registry extremely convenient. We received many of the gifts we registered for, and no duplicates because Bed, Bath, and Beyond is great about keeping the registeries updated. It was very exciting to check our registry on-line everyday to see if anything was purchased!
The gifts that our guests bought us from the on-line store all were delivered to us in beautiful packaging -- another thing that really impressed us. We loved every gift we received and none came damaged. After the wedding we received a 10% off coupon from the store for anything we did not receive from our registry. That was a nice touch, though I felt the percentage off should have been a bit higher (at least 25%) considering the amount of business we brides generate for the store.
Overall, we HIGHLY recommend that if you are looking for an online wedding or baby registry that you go through Bed, Bath, and Beyond - they have EVERYTHING you will need and the on-line store is so easy to use and filled with everything that is in the actual stores. We have heard horror stories about wedding registeries at other stores and on-line stores, but we had nothing but a wonderful experience with Bed, Bath, and Beyond's on-line store and wedding registry.
