Considering Treatment (Reply to this comment)
by jademsn
It's been months now since your surgery and I'm wondering if you feel the same way about having had the surgery, have your eyes gotten better as they say your prescription will fluctuate afterwards?

hmmm, interesting (Reply to this comment)

Thank you for the promising words! I am still terrified, as it seems the vision in my right eye is actually worsening nearly every day. I will keep your message in mind and hope for better things. This is a scathing review, and if my vision changes for the better, I will likely delete it and start over. Thanks again for the kind and positive words.

Sorry! (Reply to this comment)
by uglybugg
Sorry that you're unhappy with your results. But keep in mind that it was only 2 weeks ago. I had Lasik about 18 months ago and felt much like you did right after. In fact, within a week of my surgery I totally regretted it and thought I had made a huge mistake. I had major headaches from my eyes trying to re-adjust, couldn't drive at night for about a month due to the starbursts. It was pretty scary but it all cleared up within 3 months and I'm totally fine now.
Keep in mind that your eyes are still swollen inside and it will take a good six months for them to go back to normal. I hope in a few weeks/months it gets better. It did for me. See my review from a few months ago. Good luck and let us know in a few months if it gets better, k?

about the name calling (Reply to this comment)
by heathcolwell
You can read my other reviews. You will find that I am under normal conditions a level headed individual that thinks matter of factly. Unfortunately, this isn't a review of a book, a movie, or a consumer product. This was the review of a nightmare experience with a manipulative and horrible doctor. While my review could receive lower marks, the sense that I was personally affected by both the experience and the behaviour afterwards is genuine. I did not write this as a simple review, but a warning. Warnings can be emotional. Emtion causes communication to stray from norms. This is not my norm, but I make no apologies for the "name calling." This man mucked my eyes up, and tried to swindle me out of his office afterwards.

So sorry.... (Reply to this comment)

....that your Lasik experience was a bad one. I've only heard good things about TLC but that doesn't mean bad things don't happen.
I can certainly understand that you are bitter about your experience. I'm sure I would be, too. But I'm not so sure how helpful the name calling regarding the doctor is for others researching the same procedure.
Good luck and I hope your eyesight improves over time,
Melissa

Thank you (Reply to this comment)

for your insight here. This is certainly a procedure I was considering but I would love to hear as many experiences as I can to make my decision.
And I'm glad you moved the review over and posted it here. It's very well written but was just in the wrong place before. Now you can watch the VH's roll in! Great review.
Keep up the good writing.

I'm so sorry.... (Reply to this comment)

to hear about your terrible experience, and I wish you the best with the problem.
My eye man, who is a close friend, told me I was a candidate for Lasik surgery, but he advised me against it. He says that it can be tricky, and while close vision may be helped, it may well do irreparable damage to your long vision. I took his advice and wear my trusty glasses for reading and close work to this day.
Again, best of luck to you.

MM
