My main purpose for writing here is to warn those out there who, like me, were brought to their knees by "Cloverfield" or "Vantage Point." 15 minutes into "District 9" I realized the hand-held camera shots were really doing a number on me. After 20 minutes, I was out of there.
I'm tired of shelling out $10 to watch a movie guaranteed to make 25% of the audience vomit because of the shaky hand-held camera shots.
I propose that theaters start posting a logo (something reminiscent of "Cloverfield" would work) next to those movies that feature this kind of camera-work.
