Took my money, never shipped my order, now won't give me my money back!

Like many others on this site, I am a victim of Allegro's terrible customer service. I ordered an item & was billed immediately. After about two weeks when the item still hadn't shipped, I decided to cancel the order. That was July 20, 2009. I'm still waiting for a refund to be posted to my credit card (today is August 31, 2009), even though their web site says they process credits in 3-5 business days. I have called Allegro three times to inquire about my refund status. I keep hearing that my information will be forwarded to the accounting dept., they're going to put a "rush" on it, it will be credited next week, etc., etc. I have asked to speak to a supervisor & am denied. I have reported this company to the Better Business Bureau, the Federal Trade Commission & the Arizona Attorney General's office. When I last checked, the BBB said Allegro had 152 complaints against them in the past 36 months, but 114 of those had come in the last 12 months! I consider my situation to be one of robbery rather than refund, since they took my money for merchandise I never even saw or touched, & now they won't give it back.
