Air & Water is an online appliance retailer. We bought an AF-350 evaporative (swamp) cooler from them on 05/16/2009, hoping to cool our house while using much less electricity than an air conditioner. Shopping, selecting, and ordering the unit on the Air & Water website took about an hour - which would have been fine if the information they gave was reliable and true; it was not. The AF-350 cooler was then, and is still now, rated 5 stars by Air & Water website even though it's quality problems are serious and obvious. We assembled, filled and tried the cooler, only to have it drip water all over our living room floor - cleanup took about an hour. We arranged a warranty exchange. Air & Water tried to bill us for shipping a replacement; it took lots of back-and-forth to get them to take responsibility for shipping. The replacement unit was shipped to us on 07/03/2009. It was defective in exactly the same way as the first; it dripped water all over our living room floor. Back-and-forth again with Air & Water to arrange a refund. They billed us for shipping again. We had to dispute the shipping charge through American Express to have it removed. In all, we spent 10 hours with Air & Water and received no usable product, no service, nothing of any value; just two messes in the living room and bills for shipping defective products. Terrible products and surly, unhelpful service. Stay away.
