Was just listening to him as I read this and came across "Free Fallin'" (and oddly enough, I was listening to "Runnin' Down A Dream" from the same album). Classic song, that one.

Some songs in this list definitely do scream out "fall", for sure. Fall's always been a season I looked forward to (also very fond of winter as well, that's my favorite one)-namely because my birthday falls in this season, giving me something to look forward to, but just 'cause I love the time of year in general. The cooler weather (I am not a summer person), the leaves changing, the cozy feel of the season in general...just good stuff all around. I shall indeed have to play some of these songs when possible. You've had some great song choices throughout this year so far.

I can smell it in the cool air today here.

Pink Houses is one of my favorites. Growing up in the Midwest. Having lived in area's such as Gary, IN, Marshill (Indianapolis) and a short stint in Chicago. It's always had great meaning to me.

September has always been one of my favorite songs as September is my favorite month and is my FAVORITE time of year. It is my birth month so maybe this is why I'm big on September Anything.

Happy September 1st to you. It always bring wonderful memories of life, school and of course Autumn right around the corner.

Great writes.

"California Stars"... absolute perfection. And though my best memory of the song was having seen Wilco performing it live (in that brick oven we call the Eagles Ballroom) in mid-August, it is indeed the very embodiment of September music as defined in your very cool intro.

Great stuff... again.
