Yup, that's the scene that does it to me! I still love to rewatch this powerful film. It is one of my favorite Tim Burton films and one of my favorite Johnny Depp roles.
THanks for commenting!

Edward Scissorhands (Reply to this comment)

That last scene always gets to me where Kim (as a little, old lady telling the story to her granddaughter) is remembering back to the happiest moment of her teenage years while, at the same time, Edward is still sculpting his happy memories of living with Kim and her family in ice and making it snow.
Edward has always reminded me of Michael Jackson, both in appearance and in how pure and sweet he actually is even though too many people saw him as a freak--and even a dangerous one.

I so agree with you on Awakenings. If that doesn't get you emotional, then there's not a human being there. The movies that have got me hardest though, are "Brian's Song" and "Letters from American Soldiers." I really enjoyed them, but they kicked me right in the soul. Great list

Begnini (laughing all the way to the bank) is the one who is responsible for trivializing the holocaust. I am dubious about his intent, not yours.

Yeah, that scene where they play the Ninth as the young Ludwig floats in a pool of stars gets me all misty-eyed too. Isn't it uncanny the resemblance Oldman had to Beethoven?
One of my all time favorite films....

Notebook... (Reply to this comment)

...was definitely a movie that put me in "shock" for a couple days after watching it. I never cried over it, but the story was very much driven by passion and emotion, and how can you not fall in love with Rachel McAdams in this movie :)
Great list!

Well, I certainly didn't mean to offend anyone with my list, but that movie did make me cry. Hopefull it was not Begnini's intent to offend either.

Awakenings, that's a good one. I forgot about that one for my list. There are about three scenes in it that get me every time.

Your #1 choice (Reply to this comment)

I consider deeply offensive a trivialization.
More amusing than that travesty is "I'll wait forever"--or about 5 minutes after you go away--in the "Umbrellas of Cherbourg."
Definitely, it's your list.

I love that movie although I don't think I've ever cried in it. Nice list, lots of good choices. I also love Forest gump.
