Thanks.
Bujold is probably the most character-driven SF author I've read. OSC is certainly character-driven, but he's also very idea-oriented, which is the orientation of most good SF. Bujold's characters are refreshing in the genre.

Funny you should say that, I've been mulling over a dissertation topic in my head lately as I begin considering a PhD. The question is whether they'll take it seriously. I'm using Shelley and Darwin as a springboard, so my hopes are high.

In Brothers in Arms I actually found myself getting tired of Miles. We'll see if Mirror Dance cures me of that. It's so far succeeded in making Mark much more interesting.

...is my all-time favourite sci-fi series, and Miles my favourite male character. Love the themes and especially the quotes. Thanks for the trip down memory lane!
