good luck, I got so worked up reading that book, I got 15 people at work to read it (should have charged rental rates) and then we went to see the movie as well.
$65,000 to climb a damn mountain? who knew?
Thanks

Great review. Ironically, I am now reading Krakauer's book about his journey to Everest (I'm too lazy to walk back into the bedroom to get the title). Anyway, thanks for the great review. LaNae

It seems in that crazy world of mountain climbing, these people are very insular and self-centered anyway, as they need to be to just survive.
Many of those that do accomplish this goal, the summit of Mt. Everest, quietly go home with little fanfare. It is unfortunate that this woman - being the FIRST American woman to summit - didn't have someone to share her joy at the time. When she came home, thought, the cameras were waiting, and she has gone on to become something she probably never dreamed of being - successful, accomplished, and sure of herself.
Thanks for the comment

What a shame her monumental effort to reach the top, had her feeling less jubilant than she had anticipated. However she did indeed make it, and thus has laid the foundation that determination, heart, soul, and hard work will eventually pay off, even though you will be at times the only one to know. Great review, thanks
