I've shopped at my local Bass Pro for several years and have always had a great shopping experience. I think Cabelas has a better selection, especially camping/hiking gear, but Bass Pro is closer and gives me a 10% military discount. Cabelas rarely gives a military discount. I decided to order some items online to take advantage of their "6-pay" plan (spread payments out over 6 months). This plan is only available for online and catalog orders. I didn't like the quality of the product I received, so I decided to return the item, which was large and bulky. Even though my local Bass Pro store stocks this item, I had to ship it back to Springfield, MO. There's nothing quite like having to pay for shipping twice! One of the items I ordered (a pair of boots) was shipped direct from the manufacturer. Bass Pro does not provide a shipping status, so two weeks later, I still don't know where my boots are! I placed another order for a single item that is in stock and three days later the order status is still "processing". The Bass Pro associates in the stores have always been cordial, helpful, and they go out of their way to assist customers. This is absolutely my last order with Bass Pro!
