Pros: Sounded good on paper.

| mpopetz's Full Review: Genica Roodpaq MP3 Player |
So, the Roopaq sounded too good to be true so I ordered it and it turns out that it is too good to be true.
I read the manual (which is in VERY BAD english) and then started using the device. Within 5 minutes I had caused the hard drive I installed to zork itself to the point where I had to reformat the drive to get it to work again.
I figured out the steps to reproduce the problem and sent an email to Genica but they have not responded yet.
I updated the USB drivers but it didn't help.
Just so you know, here are the steps:
- power up the device
- plug in USB
- copy some .mp3 files to the device
- unplug USB
- play files
- plug in USB
- *ZONK*
You should read the manual, it's written in VERY BAD english and has nothing that I can interpret to mean that the above steps are bad. The only thing it says with respect to this is "Caution: Powered the device before you connecting to the computer."
