The Bottom Line The only reason I dealt with them was there cheap price but after dealing with them on the phone I would rather pay more and shop somewhere else.

I tried to buy a Canon Power Shot G2 Digital Camera from Regency Camera and then a week after I ordered it I was told they didn’t have it in stock. I’ll quote them “Maybe you can try back in a month”… so I canceled the order.
I went through 5 or 6 price searching sites on the net and found Regency Camera to have the best price at $569 + shipping = $605. A UPS shipping charge of $35 is a bit much compared to $10 to $20 from other companys, but the end price was still good so I decided to use them.
I called their 1-800 number to place the order and the salesman put me on hold. I had asked before he put me on hold if it would be easier to order online, he said no. I got hung up on once and called back. I waited about 20 minutes total until I hung up. I decided to just order online.
The order placed no problem online but I received no email confirmation. The next day the same salesman called me back to confirm the order. I could tell it was him because of his accent and poor telephone skills. I had a hard time understanding him. He spoke way to quick with a heavy North East accent. I can’t say he was rude, but close. He tried to sell me 2 other items, a battery and 64 mb memory card. He told me the battery in the G2 would only last 15 minutes. I had done my research on the camera and knew the battery in the G2 lasted a lot longer than that. I decided to call him back in 20 minutes after I did some quick price research on these items, to confirm the order. His price on both were almost double what I found else where, not to mention he obviously did not know his product from the battery story.
So... oh well I got a good price so I called back, confirmed the order and he said it would arrive within a couple weeks. One week later I called to get the tracking info. This time I got hung up on twice as they tried to route my call. On the third attempt the lady who I spoke with found my order not by the order number but by my telephone number. She then told me it has not been shipped, they do not have any in stock and I quote "Maybe you can try back in a month." The way this person talked was similar to the salesman... it took me a while to understand what she said, but at least she did not have a heavy accent. What really got me off is that the salesperson didn't tell me they did not have the camera in stock. I canceled the order and just placed one with another company who were able to confirm for me the had the product in stock and there end price was $628.
I will not shop again at Regency Camera
