"From Where I Sit" piece on the war. Thank you for waking up. Humor is the best stimulant, as you prove here.
Sincerely,

First, lobstergirl reappears. Then, another jazzbocrow hilarious comment. Today must be my day.
Now, will you both please stick around and say something funny?

Will you be staying around for a while, then?
Judging from the consecutive postings, two years apart (give or take a day), I'm looking forward to a next LG sighting on Oct. 11, 2007. And I will be holding my breath, thank you!

Ugh... I've been languishing in a lobstergirl-less morass for far too long, and then only stumble on this little oasis after trudging through miles of crap posted by the acolytes of a professor from Utah who has apparently required his students
1) to create an Epinions account
2) to trust him, without ever being trusted back
3) to post trivia, sketches, and to-do lists, and responses to one another's trivia, sketches, and lists
and
4) to place them all in Philosophy, Non-Fiction.
Well, I'm so pleased I burrowed far down enough in the mud to find this gem.
10) D.

and maybe a jew or other foreigner
Hey - that's me - a New York-born foreigner. I guess being a Jew (capitalize it, please, as you do Christian) nullifies my birthplace and citizenship.

and I am struggling with the quiz. I could get it right if I wasn't laughing so much. Loved every political word of your quiz - I liked the castration question before being sworn in the best.

What do I find offensive? What do I not? Here are just a few things:
1) Reference to Mullah Omar bobblehead dolls, Taliban-related keychains -- Bobble-heads and novelty key-chains are as American as baseball, and it is not funny to associate them with terrorists.
2) Reference to Saddam Hussein watching Fletch -- I personally know Chevy Chase (he once bought cheese at a store near my house) and I do NOT think he would like even a joking association with Saddam Hussein. And I doubt Saddam Hussein would really get the humor in that movie anyway. It is too American.
3) The reference to macaca -- I know that this was just another attempt by a liberal (and maybe a jew or other foreigner) to cast aspersions on an esteemed congressman. The author once again shows her lack of patriotism (and possible foreign/non-Christian/lack of family values origins).
4) Mark Foley is indeed a Democrat and I respect Fox news for pointing it out. I am tired of Democrats cutting and running when members of their party act badly.
There is so much more that I cannot even say, but suffice to say that this Lobstergirl is probably one of Osama Bin Laden's wives. She is probably one of his really trusted wives who is allowed to clean his dialysis machine and trim his beard.

LOBSTERGIRL!!! (Reply to this comment)
by virtuelle2
and !!! again!!!
The planets have aligned themselves with one another? The asteroid is about to crash into the earth? GWB is finally leaving the White House and taking his kit and caboodle with him?
To what miracle do we owe your (brief?) return to Epinions?
Thanks for stopping by to leave us another hilarious piece, which really ranks at the very top of satire with the likes of Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert and The Onion. All of whom should hire you for their writing staff this very instant! Brava!
Will you be staying around for a while, then? It's just not funny enough around here anymore without your insane presence.
Still a major fan,
Teresa

I labored long and hard over this and you didn't even give us the right answers at the end. Phooey.
But I'm delighted that you're back, and hope you stick around for a while.

What do you find offensive? the fact that there's an element of truth in each of these? that you didn't write it yourself?
No use complaining if you don't say what it is you're complaining about.

I savored this, enjoying every bit for as long as possible, like a muslim beejay delivered by Judith Light. In fact, if I'm awake, I'm gonna come back in 15 minutes and read it again.
