Pros:Comfortable, easy to use, soothing for a fussy baby
Cons:None!
The Bottom Line: If you are looking for a front carrier, this is it! It is worth every penny...you definitely will not regret paying a little extra for it.

The Baby Bjorn is probably one of the most expensive front carriers found at the mega stores like Babies R Us...however, it is worth every cent! I just had my 3rd child and it has been an absolute lifesaver. I had two different kinds of Snuglis with my first two children and hated them. They never felt very secure (never allowed me to truly have hands free because I always felt like I needed to have one hand supporting the baby at all times) and after a while, they would cause back strain (I do have a bad back). Additionally, they were a royal pain to get the baby in and out.

Now that you know my gripes, you also know what I was looking for in a baby carrier...and I found them all in the Baby Bjorn. First, this carrier is ultra-secure...even when used with a newborn. On top of that, my third baby had the fussies in the evenings right around dinner time or shortly after which lasted an hour or two. Without the Baby Bjorn, I'd be a basket case because that is the same time I need to be getting dinner on the table and then getting my two older children in a bath and to bed. The only place my baby would sleep when she got the fussies was in the Baby Bjorn...and it truly freed me (and both my hands) up to do things (including giving a bath to a toddler).

My 3rd child was 9 lbs at birth and 6 days after she was born, I took my older two children trick or treating for Halloween. Carried my newborn in the Baby Bjorn the entire hour we were out walking around the neighborhood and it was great...didn't feel any back strain at all (and remember I have a bad back).

Finally, the Baby Bjorn is made so that it is wonderfully easy to get a baby in and out. I must admit, when I first bought it, the instruction manual made the task look overwhelmingly difficult...but trust me, once you've done it once or twice, it is not difficult at all. Unlike the Snugli, where you feel like you have to do contortions and/or make the baby do contortions to get in and out, the Baby Bjorn completely detaches in the front so you can actually get the baby out without waking him/her (and baby never gets stuck in some weird position when trying to get him/her in or out).

I could go on and on about how much I love this front carrier...including little details like how lightweight it is, that it is made of machine washable fabric, that it allows your body to breathe so you don't feel overheated when using it, etc...sigh - if I had only known about it with my first two girls. Anyway, if you are looking for a front carrier and put off by the price tag...it is worth it, so bite the bullet and run, don't walk, to the store to buy this one. You won't regret it. For the money I spent on two Snuglis that I hated and ended up not using much, I could have bought the Baby Bjorn!
