On 10/4 I placed an online order with Puritan's Pride. On 10/6 I saw that the purchase amount of $91.92 from Puritan's Pride showed up as a deduction from my checking account account.
On 10/9 I received an email from Puritan's Pride stating that my order had been canceled and that my credit card information had been deleted. The email also contained a coupon for $5 Off to use when I reordered. The coupon had an expiration date of 10/8.
I pulled up my bank account online and saw a new (second) charge of $91.92 from Puritan's Pride in the pending column.
I called Puritan's Pride customer service and spoke to a very rude rep who told me that there was a big computer malfunction that had caused this sitution. She told me that a credit could be issued but that it would take 7 - 14 days. I explained to her that the new charge had not gone through yet, that it was only PENDING which means that all they had to do was void the transaction but she wouldn't hear any of it. I asked to speak to a supervisor and she said that there were no supervisors in the office. I gave her my number and asked that a supervisor call me.
I called my bank. The bank rep confirmed that all Puritan's Pride needed to do was void the new charge and that the pending charge of $91.92 would disapear and that I would then have access to that money in my account.
I called Puritan's Pride and asked to speak to a supervisor. The woman that I spoke to told me that it would take a "few days" to show a credit in my account. I told her that if this charge goes through that I will dispute it. She then told me that if I dispute the charges that I will not receive a credit because the computer system would think that I was trying to collect twice. (This makes no sense.) She promised me that the pending charge would not process through as a second charge of $91.92.
This morning 10/10 I looked at my bank account online and saw that the second Puritan's Pride charge of $91.92 WAS DEDUCTED from my bank account. I immediately got on the phone with my bank and have disputed the charge.
I will NEVER order from Puritan's Pride again.
By the way, late yesterday afternoon UPS delivered the legitamate order that was placed on 10/4.
Non of this makes any sense. The email stating that my order was canceled, the second charge of $91.92 5 days after I made my order, the expired coupon, the first PP rep telling me that there were no supervisors in the office, the second woman who clearly lied and told me that she would void the second charge. None of it. Also, at no time did the "supervisor" offer anything to make the situation right. No coupons, no appology, no nothing.
