Introduction
For those who haven't experienced the website yet,Mycoupons.com is home to 16 excellent forums,as well as numerous coupons[as the URL implies],web-based email,dozens of freebies and much more. As I frequent about 10 rewards programs daily,I've found the site to be an excellent resource!
My background with the site
I've been a member of Mycoupons for some time now.
Ever since I started doing my first rewards program [Beenz] ,I've been visiting their site each day for tips,hints and locations of rewards programs.Heck,I've even made a few referrals off mycoupons,believe it or not. In addition to browsing the 'Rewards Programs Board',I also check out the 'Look What I Found' and 'Garage Sale Specialties' forums every once in awhile. [More on the forums below]. Anyway, like I said I'm still visiting Mycoupons.com each day-not only for their forums but also their web-based email service.
What does Mycoupons.com Offer?
*16 forums: here's a brief description of a few.
'Look What I Found' : in this forum,users share deals they've found[online&offline],as well as coupons and freebies.
'My Two Cents Worth' : users share their opinions on stuff-usually Ebay situations,as well as discussing what cars to buy,bank accounts,gift ideas,etc.
'Garage Sale Specialties' : here users post what they have to trade/sell and can contact each other-normally there's stuff such as old clothes,gift certificates,electronics,codes,coupons and other interesting items!
'Rewards Programs' : In this forum mycoupons members discuss what rewards programs are worth the effort,trivia answers,feedback they've got from programs,advice on earning points and status of rewards they're supposed to receive.
*A Web-Based Email service - I've found this service to be slow most of the time,and sometimes I don't even bother checking my email there due to the loading speed. They provide you with all the usual features for free - 2 Megabytes worth of space,an address book,folders and some options. For $10 per year you can upgrade to a 10MB account.
*Coupons! As their name implies,they're not short on coupons. I'm not sure as to the exact number of coupons available,but it must be close to 100,if not more!
*Gift Certificates-Mycoupons.com is run by DirectCertificates.com and so you can buy DC's gcs right on Mycoupons.
*Polls-they have a different poll each week,so you can tell the world what you think!
The moderators-good or evil?!
The mods at Mycoupons act like dictators,in the true fashion of the word. They seem to check every single post dozens of times within a single day. I've had posts modded and deleted within minutes of posting and when I email the mod who did it to request an explanation I always get a canned response. However,they usually just forward my email to the 'queen-bee' mod,and she writes back to let me know what mycoupons stands for[bla bla bla] , why they do this but it never makes sense! I mean,what's wrong with moving your post up on a certain board sooner than every 8 hours? after 5 hours,your post can be on the 4th or 5th page back...no one can see it.
SO what's the actual site like?
Mycoupons is really easy to navigate. The sections of the site are accessible no matter where you're surfing on their homepage. They've got searches so you can look for coupons,users or certain topics. Unfortunately,some of the links' text is quite small,but your browser might be able to increase the size.
Final Thoughts
Overall I like mycoupons. I've made quite a few friends there...I've met some nice people and i've joined countless rewards programs. I just wish they'd ease up with the modding of posts. The site itself loads well most of the time,though i have had unpleasant experiences with MC refusing to load in the past.[Those were the days that I had a modem!]
