My Tickets Now experience in an attempt to see the Kylie Minogue concert at the Hammerstein Ballroom, New York City on Oct. 11, 2009 was a major disaster.
The night I ordered the ticket over the phone I wanted the best seat available. The Tickets Now person said that the ticket I wanted was no longer available though the ticket were posted as available on their website. But she had another ticket was available for the same price, $340.00. Though I was buying a lesser seat for the same money, I didn't care. I placed the order. Bait & Switch?
The next day, my email confirmation did not come. I called Tickets Now and asked about the my order. They first asked for my invoice number. I wasn't given an invoice number when I ordered the ticket so they checked by my name. They said there is no record of the sale. I said it's posted online through my credit card. No order.
I kept emailing and calling until Saturday, the day before the concert. I reached someone called a customer specialist. He discovered through their records that my last name had been misspelled. So the specialist contacted the ticket supplier, who was'nt working, and told him the situation. The specialist then said he would make the changes so that the Hammerstein Ballroom would have my correct name attached to the ticket.
The day of the concert I took the Accela train to New York City arriving at 7:00 P.M. I left the station and walked directly to the venue as the show was starting at 8 P.M. and talked to the ticket person at the Will Call ticket window. There was no ticket!? I produced my driver's license and the credit card I made the purchase with. NO TICKET! I asked the lady to search with my name misspelled. NO TICKET!
So where was I at 8 P.M. on October 11, 2009? I was back on the Accela train going home not watching Kylie Minogue perform. I've called Tickets Now to complain. They said the supplier stated that the ticket was there. So, I'm out $340.40 for the ticket and over another $300 in train fares and no concert.
