I haven’t written anything for Epinions in a while, but I intend on changing that. I noticed shippo225’s response to the Food Lovers Write-Off and I thought I could give my own opinions on food. What is your favorite: 1. Soft Drink I have always been a fan of Pepsi. I like it more than Coke because it does not have that weird citrus taste that Coca Cola has. There is also something about the smell of Pepsi I enjoy. 2. Ice Cream Flavor Chocolate chip cookie dough. That is the best flavour of ice cream ever. Only a seriously disturbed individual would not like it. The best thing about chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream is that it is always good. A lot of places and companies can’t even get chocolate and vanilla right, but as long as there is cookie dough, there is an acceptable ice cream there. 3. Fast Food Restaurant I would have to call it a draw between two places in Winnipeg. One is a place called Burger Factory, it is on Regent. They make gyros and hamburgers that almost make me sexually excited. It is owned and operated by a Greek immigrant who is the sweatiest man I have ever met. Seriously. He always looks like he just finished having sex in sauna, but he makes one mean burger. It has real pickles, not those neon green things from corporate burger joints and there are a variety of secret sauces. Although, considering how sweaty the owner is, I am almost worried about the contents of the sauces. The other place is in Transcona (a suburb of Winnipeg), it is called Whistle Pig. It is located right beside a Dairy Queen (get some passable ice cream after one of the best burgers you will ever eat, I would always) and sells its awesome burgers from this rusted out trailer with a cartoon whistling pig sign on the top. They have these thick, greasy, bacon smothered, cheese covered burgers that are forever burned into my memory. They are only open in the summer, which is the only downside to them. But you can always go to Burger Factory while Whistle Pig is closed. 4. Type of Pizza New York style pizza. Big cheesy triangles sold by the slice. Also, in western Canada there is a chain called Gondola Pizza. Most are strictly take out with a few locations having sit-down facilities. You might be thinking “Chain? Did he seriously say a chain offers good pizza? Next he will say that Sears makes a good suit and Radio Shack is where you want to buy your computers”. You have not had the pizza. They serve thin-crust pizzas that come from a coal fired oven, which is more than I can say for most independent places. The cheese is thicker than the crust. If it weren’t illegal and would render it inedible, I would do more than just eat their pizza. 5. Thanksgiving Dinner: A roast turkey is all that matters. With good gravy as well. 6. Snack Food: Pistachio nuts and dates are my favourite snack food. 7. Side Dish: More meat. 8. Food to Eat While Driving: I don’t drive much and I avoid eating while driving. 9. Food for Breakfast: I usually don’t eat breakfast, but my favourite is a Lumberjack’s Breakfast, steak, eggs, bacon, sausages, and toast. 10. Sit-Down Restaurant: I like steak houses and ethnic restaurants. 11. Italian Dish: Chicken risotto. 12. Chinese Dish: Peking duck. 13. Sandwich: Capicola. Especially in a hero or a Muffuletta. 14. Cheese: Camembert on crackers or toasted bread and nicely aged cheddar by itself. 15. Donut: Another western Canadian franchise, Robin’s Donuts it certainly beats Tim Horton’s. Also, I now live in Australia where it is impossible to find a decent donut. I hear there are a few Krispy Kremes in Sydney and I just hope they open one on the Gold Coast soon. 16. Type Of Dessert: Easy. Cannoli, Tiramisu, Black Forrest Cake, Cheesecake, Ice Cream, and many others. 17. Type Of Cake: New York Cheesecake. 18. Vegetable: Chicken. I eat so much meat, poultry is now a vegetable. 19. Fruit: Pears and mangos. 20. Food In Bed: Whipped cream, chocolate syrup, and honey. *Wink* 21. Beer: I am not into beer. I usually drink hard liquor. 22. Drink With Dinner: I usually just drink water or Pepsi. 23. Fruit Juice: I have this juice, it is a blend of apple, pineapple, passionfruit, mango, guava, and orange juice. It is one of the best juices I have had in years. 24. FAVORITE MEAL: Just a lot of meat. Maybe a big steak (three pounds) and some lamb chops. Yes, I have actually eaten that before.
