So far I've used Squaretrade for warrantees on three items. The first item I tried to file a claim was for a PS3 purchased used that failed within the exclusion period. Be very careful not to file claims during that period. The second warranty was on a refurbished printer (HP Photosmart). I purchased the warranty fully disclosing that it was a refurbushed replacement and listed the new value. On filing the claim squaretrade tried to cancel the warranty. They stated that I had put the wrong price in and they didn't cover refurbished items. They offered to give me a full refund. I refused stating that I was instructed by the sales rep to list the value of the item, and that if it was too high they simply owed me a refund for the difference of the warranty. Second, I disclosed that the item was refurbished when I applied for the warranty so it should be covered. Square settled the printer's warranty for me for $170 so I made $140 on the transaction. I wanted to relay this in case square tries to back out of warranty claims. If you have a legitimate case then stand your ground. Do not settle just for the price of the warranty. Remember, square is in this business to make money and if they can skip out of a warranty they will try to do it. However, their warrantees are no worse than any other company I've dealt with and the prices are right so I'd recommend them and will continue to purchase them myself.
