Pros:Made by Lucent, Activity and Power LEDs, External Antenna Compatible Cons:64bit WEP encryption (128 isn't much better though) The Bottom Line: If you don't care too much about 128bit encryption this is the card for you... read more about WEP though... it doesn't work anyway.
I bought my Orinoco on ebay for about $50 bucks. Its a great wireless card. It has excellent power management facilitating use with my iPAQ without burning out the batter too quickly. The software for the Orinoco is the best out of and wireless cards I have tried. It works with netstumbler... which (until recently) the PRISM based chips didn't work with. Lucent is a trustworthy name, with it's Bell Labs roots. I am pretty sure you can upgrade the firmware and get 128bit encryption... although that may be somewhat of a hack.
WEP encryption is easily crackable anyway so if you are transmitting sensitive data over the air you better make sure you have several layers of encryption on it. DONT RELY ON WEP!!!
