Pardon my play on words. I was so pleased to find a product appropriate for all of my cats, that not only puts a smile on their faces, but pleases me additionally.
My motley crue of kitties is comprised of Bridget, my oh-so-grouchy rescued Mainecoon, who is around 9 years old, the beautiful and personable, Jazmine, my Siamese rescue who is around 4ish, and her offspring (yes, she was just a tad pregnant when abandoned by her previous owner), Nikko (a mutt) who is 3 years. Their personalities are all totally different, their look different, and yes, their food preferences are diverse.
Feeding History:
My cats have been very happy with their Nutro Max Cat for several months. I have been satisfied, as the company is fantastic, the food and ingredients of premium quality, and the cats gave me twelve paws up. My only complaint is that one product did not satisfy all of their needs. It was necessary to provide them with nibbles of this or that to reduce shedding, and hairballs. Dental care needed to be handled by yet another product, and then we have the uh weight control issue experienced by Jazmine. Now that she is happy and settled, she has become well, let’s say pleasantly plump. And yes, I realize there are lovers of BBWC (big beautiful women cats) but I am concerned about her health. She is always beautiful to me.
My Main Challenge:
My main food challenge is my MaineCoon. She has many food allergies and we won’t go into her neuroses. I spent quite a bit of money purchasing her hypoallergenic foods from the veterinarian. Eventually this caused her to have female problems, so I was having to augment the food with additional food to counteract the hypoallergenic food, and antibiotics. That is when I decided to turn to Nutro. As mentioned above, we enjoyed the Nutro Max for quite a while until I saw the Nutro Natural Choice Complete Care, and was intrigued.
Nutro Natural Choice Complete Care:
Enter NNCCC. It was situated in a special little aisle at the local Centinela Pet Store. As it is a new product, they were offering a special trial offer, and yes, I was quite excited.

Their Feeding Guidelines:
To feed per day in cups for maintenance and separate guidelines for our pudgier feline buddies:
4-5 pounds 3/8 to1/2
6-8 pounds ½ to ¾
9-11 pounds ¾ to 1 1/8
12-15 pounds 1 1/8 to 1 ½
16-18 pounds 1 ½ to 1 ¾
12-21 pounds 1 ¾ to 2
My cats are around 15 pounds each, but I just feed them in a few bowls as needed. It is hard to determine exact amounts when you have more than one cat, or that is my experience.
Feline Response:
The kitties have been very happy with the NNCCC and eat it without any problem. I augment the dry NNCCC with the moist Nutro Natural Choice on occasion just to provide them with some variety, and because I do have one male, and I’ve been told for years it is not good to always give a male cat dry food.
My Viewpoint:
While this food is not the least expensive, it is important to me that I feed the cats the best possible product I can. I feel this is almost as important as keeping them strictly inside, having them spayed/neutered, getting their regular innoculations.
What I like:
I respect the Nutro name, the fresh, healthy ingredients, low ash content, that they performed a miracle by putting so much in one bag of cat food. I no longer have to purchase a product to alleviate hairballs, a product to prevent bad breath, one for weight management, something for sensitive stomachs, something to ensure their stools are appealing (?). All of their coats are soft and gorgeous, their breath would attract other cats for miles, well, would if they went outside, which they don’t. Their shedding still exists of course but I have noticed it has been reduced. Sure, the cats prefer the taste of less healthy foods, and so do I, but they eat it with enthusiasm, and their Mom knows she is doing the best she can for them.
What I don’t like:
There isn’t much but I wish I could open this easy open bag without scissors. It would be wonderful if I could find this product at a regular grocery store, and I used to have to go to the pet store, but find it easier now to do as much as possible online (and never leave the house for little errands like pet products; aah), and it would be great if I didn’t have to pay for a higher quality product, but come on. . .
In Conclusion:
If you love, I mean, really love your cat, you owe it to him, her, it, them, to buy this excellent product. Overall it is worth the extra cost, as you are not required to buy separate items, it is all in one bag. I highly recommend NNCCC, and would love to know your opinion after you and your cat give it a try. By the way, if you decide to change your pet's food, do it very gradually, by mixing a small amount into their present food, and eventually replacing it. This will greatly alleviate the possibility of stomach upset (the animals, not yours).
