The Bottom Line Here is my top ten list of romantic comedies. There are so many good ones to choose from, but these are my favorite!!
Romantic Comedies are my favorite movies to watch. As I watch them, I look for story line, how real the characters are and if I want to watch them again. I have watched most of these movies countless times, and I have never gotten tired of them. Here's my list: Number 10 Just Like Heaven A lonesome architect, Mark Ruffalo, falls for the spirit of beautiful woman, Reece Witherspoon, who used to live in his new apartment. The movie is full of fascinating twists and keeps you interested from the very beginning. Highlight: The movie was cute and believable. It left me wanting to watch it again! Number 9 Wedding Planner Jennifer Lopez is the wedding planner who is organized, ambitious, and she knows what to do to make any wedding wonderful. But the twist of the story is when Jennifer Lopez falls for the groom (Matthew McConaughey oh baby!) of the most important wedding she is planning. Highlight: I loved the chemistry between Lopez and McConaughey. This is a movie that kept me laughing all the way through! Number 8 Hope Floats Sandra Bullock plays a woman who comes back to her hometown with her daughter, Mae Witman, after a divorce. While there, she runs into an old friend, Harry Connick Jr., who is still in love with her. Highlight: Sweet movie that makes you want to fall in love! It is a well thought out story line with a great ending! Number 7 A Knights Tale The cast is amazing (Heath Ledger, need I say more Paul Bettany, Mark Addy, Alan Tudyk, Shannyn Sossamon). It is about a squire who pretends to be a knight as he sets out to prove himself worthy at the country's jousting competition, and finds romance along the way. Highlight: I think I went and saw this movie a dozen times in the theater! It is one that I can watch over and over and never get sick of! Number 6 Ever After Drew Barrymore and Dougray Scott star in Ever After. It is a new take on the real story of Cinderella. A classic! Highlight: The story is wonderful and the music is great! I loved the ending and thought that the writers did and excellent job with this movie! Number 5 My Big Fat Greek Wedding A young Greek woman (Nia Vardalos) falls in love with a non-Greek (John Corbett) and struggles to get her family to accept him while she comes to terms with her Greek background. Highlight: I think this is my most quoted movie. My friends and I always are saying lines from this movie. The story is also very creative and believable! Number 4 Runaway Bride Julia Roberts plays a woman who always flees from her grooms in the last possible moment. Richard Gere plays a reporter who is looking to write an article on Julias next wedding. With a huge twist to the entire movie, they end up getting married. Highlight: I loved the ending of this movie. It is a great story that leaves you feeling happy! Number 3 While you were Sleeping Sandra Bullock plays a woman who is head over heels for Peter Gallagher. She ends up saving his life, but while he was in a coma, she fell in love with his brother, Bill Pullman. Highlight: My favorite part is when Joe Jr. says "Are you ok, it looks like he's leaning." Great and funny movie! Number 2 My Best Friends Wedding Julia Roberts is hilarious as she plays Julianne in My Best Friends Wedding. When her best friend (Dermot Mulroney) says he is engaged, she realizes that she loves him herself, and sets out to get him with only days before the wedding. Highlight: I loved this movie. Even though they did not end up together, it still was a great romantic movie!! Can I have a drum roll please... Number 1 How To Lose a Guy in 10 Days Matthew McConaughey plays an advertising executive who makes a bet to win a big campaign, the bet is: that he can make a woman fall in love with him in 10 days. Kate Hudson plays a How To writer and is assigned to write an article called How to Lose a Guy in 10 days." The two meet in a bar and life becomes a nightmare for Matthew. But he endures everything she does, and she finds herself falling for him. shortly after the bet is made. Highlight I loved this movie. The story was fantastic. It was so funny, and I loved how the movie finished! Here are a few that are so close, but didnt quite make the cut: A Walk to Remember, Serendipity, Return to Me, French Kiss, IQ, Youve Got Mail, Princess Bride, Sweet Home Alabama, and Failure to Launch. |
