I am new to the cell phone world, but with Voicestream and my phones (Ericsson's T-28w and T-39m), it has been both a relief (finanically) and an easy transition.
I found that Verizon, my local phone company, was just too expensive for what little service I was getting ($75 to $100 a month including caller ID, three way calling and caller reveal. That's it!). Voicestream is $40 a month INCLUDING voice mail, caller ID, call forwarding, free long distance, free weekends (from midnight Friday to midnight Sunday), use around the world with a tri-band phone, three way calling, SMS messaging and 500 anytime minutes a month. At that price and with those features, my land line's days were numbered.
I wish I would have thought of this sooner!
So, I dumped Verizon and picked up Voicestream.
It was so easy. I called and they signed me up for the plan I wanted including international usage. Voicestream gave me the T-28 world phone, asked for no money up front, only charged $20 for activation, and phone and plan came in one day.
Because this is my first phone and plan, I had a ton of questions. I called Voicestream and they were great. The operator answered every question clearly and she didn't have to put me on hold to ask around for the answer. I have been able to reach them day and night with no problem. At the most, I have only been put on hold for 3 to 5 minutes due to call volume, not a lack of knowledge.
So far, I have had no problems. I have yet to see how billing works, so I will report later if there are problems with it.
I have yet to lose a call and the only times I lose the signal are in completely understandible areas such as underground train stations and railway tunnels. I have yet to lose the signal anywhere around town, in buildings, in my car or outside of the city. Granted, I have not used it while driving across the state or out of state. I am going west for Christmas, so I will be able to test it then.
Overall, I am happy with Voicestream and unless major problems arise, I don't see any reason to switch to another company.
