My experience with Musicians Friend was essentially a positive one except that the shipping took longer than advertised. Some of this is probably due to the time of year as December is a very busy month for UPS.
The web site is well designed and easy to navigate. Even the site's search function worked well... which is not the case for most sites.
I was looking for a good, cheap, acoustic electric guitar. Musicians Friend offered some great web specials on close-out models... and I was able to pick up a Schecter SW2000 for $199... which is about $150 less than I could have bought it locally.
Communication on the order itself was good... order confirmation came almost immediately by email. I had the UPS shipping information within eight hours. The tracking number was correct.
The only snafu was shipping time... but given the price of the guitar, I'm willing to overlook it. Particularly since I had just tried to buy a guitar off of EBAY from a scam artist... so I was thankful for the quality of service and the product I received from Musicians Friend.
If you are not sure what you want or need other tech support, buy local... but if you know what you need Musicians Friend should help you save some money.
