The Bottom Line quickest way to get a good handle on fares, lacks some options that airlines offer

I was quite excited when the airlines announced Orbitz, I thought it would enhance my fare searching experience tremendously. In the last year or so I have bought tickets online at least once a month and regularly search just to see how much fares are, so I am pretty aware of the options available. In general, I would say that it is a very good site, though still not the perfect solution. Some of the main cons:
-- When you purchase a ticket, you can only enter a frequent flyer number for that airline, even though many partner with other airlines and on their own sites allow you to enter partner numbers. After searching Orbitz and realizing this, I actually went directly to the Northwest site and bought my ticket there (for $5 more so I could have the ease of entering my US airways account number).
-- You cannot search with hour-specific preferences from the homepage. I find this a bit inconvenient.
-- The actual search sometimes takes quite awhile (in comparison to other sites).
One other thing, though it has nothing to do with anything practical or functional, I like the look of the site. The "please wait while we are searching billions of fares" image is quite aesthetically pleasing.
I certainly recommend using the site as it does search all the major airlines (except Southwest) quite efficiently. In general it is also slightly cheaper than what the airlines offer on their own pages, though not always significantly.
