Items not shipped on time, terrible customer service

Similar to other reviewers, I had an excellent experience with creating my photo book. I found the website easy to use, flexible, and of high quality overall. And their prices were very reasonable.
However, all of that positive experience was completely wiped from my mind once I submitted and paid for my order, including expedited shipping.
It was scheduled to ship on 10/29 and now, 6 days later, my account status STILL says "processing". My credit card has of course been charged, but there is no indication of what the problem is or when my order will be shipped, never mind when it will arrive.
I have sent an email and got the same form letter as others - just tells me there was a "technical issue" and it will be sent as soon as possible...how the heck is that helpful?? I let another day pass and then I called them only to get the same response, but this time just verbally. Immensely frustrating. This is a gift and now it is one day past the date of the occasion when I intended to give the gift. Needless to say, I am very unhappy with how this has turned out.
Their customer service is useless, and I will not be ordering from them again. It's too bad because I liked my experience up until it came time to actually GET the book that I worked so hard to create. I strongly recommend that, at least for photo books, customers use a different service such as Shutterfly or Kodak. It's just not worth the hassle.
