Playmobil 's web store was awful from shipping to customer service!

The Playmobil On line store is not a site that I have shopped at much. To be honest I shopped there one time and chose not to go back again. They have their ups and downs like any where else but for me the downs were stronger then the up are. below I will get in to a full description of what I liked and did not like about the Playmobil On line store. They were not what I was hoping they would be.
The site set up and ease of ordering:
The Playmobil On line store is set up very well. I have no complaints about that. You can search for what you want by the search bar if you know what you are looking for already. Or you can use their categories and sub-categories to help you find products that you are interested in purchasing as well. The site has plenty of bold colors and the text is large enough to see and read clearly. The product information and product photos could not be better.
Placing an order is no harder then any place else on line. Just choose what you want, put it in your cart and head off to the check out. There you put in your billing and payment information, your shipping method and shipping address and your email address as well. You will get an email confirmation right away allowing you to keep that as a reciept. They take most if not all major credit cards. I shopped using Visa as usual. They are a secure site that won't give out third party information so you can be sure that you are safe through the shopping process.
The items that I purchased:
I bought a doll house for my daughter, a police motor bike toy for my nephew, a police sea plane and some doll house furniture as well. It was not a huge order but that was what I purchased because I couldn't find these items any where else for a good price. This site was the only one I was able to spot them at.
What else they offer:
This site offers toys for all ages and stages. They have dolls, doll houses, police sets, firman sets, building sets, and much more. All of it in good quality. I have no complaints about the selection that they offer. You can find thousands of toys and gifts from toddler to teen on this site.
Prices:
The prices at this site are good and bad. They are cheaper on certain items that I saw. But some items were way off the chart in cost. One item I was looking at but chose not to buy was the animal clinic which was $65.00 there and only $30.00 at Toys R Us. So that was a big difference in cost that I was not willing to pay. I guess it all goes by what you find on the site.
Shipping and customer service:
It is hard for me to start explaining the shipping. First of all the shipping cost was no higher then any where else. I chose standard shipping and they said the order should arrive with in 7 business days. I waited 2 weeks and when it did not show I emailed the company using the contact tab on the site. They took 3 days to get back to me and were not very friendly about it. The woman told me that I should have called UPS with the tracking number before emailing them. So I did that. UPS said the package was never received and the tracking number that I was given did not exist.
I emailed the site again, this time I got the very same woman who was rude to me a second time. She said "Well we deal with hundreds of orders, not every one will go as planned, what do you want me to do about it?" I replied with a simple "Send me my order!" And she said it would be sent. I waited for two more weeks and still got nothing, no package and no emails. I called this time and asked for a superviser. The man's attitude was better then the woman had been. He said he was sorry and would ship the order out again. They did, and I got it 5 days later. But the point was that I had to wait over a month for my order that should have been here with in 7 days.
The items were packaged sloppy. They used paper and no bubble wrap. The paper was spaced out and there was not very much of it. The Police bike box was crushed but the item inside of it's box was in tact. It was a gift so I wanted the box to be normal. However, at least it came in. The sad thing is that I had to save the items for Christmas because my nephew's birthday had come and gone since I ordered and didn't get it in time. I ended up buying him some thing else for his birthday.
My recommendation and thoughts:
No way would I ever shop with this site again. It was a train wreck trying to get what I ordered to get here. I did not like being treated like I was "bothering" the customer service woman at all. I thought she was rude and not very helpful either. I have had poor experiences at sites before, but this took the cake. I would never shop there again. I know every order can't be perfect but this was just an all out mess. I would recommend staying far away from this site.
