Pros:Great for low light photography.

Cons:3.4 fps is a little slow but not a huge issue.

The Bottom Line:

A reliable DSLR, The Canon T1i is the camera to start with because of its great image quality and its flexibility..

Being a Nikon user I was very impressed with this upper upper-entry-level DSLR. With its impressive 1080p HD video recording at 20fps, and its expandable ISO up to 12,800.It shoots up to speeds of 3.4 fps delivering beautiful image quality even at 3200 ISO enabling the user to shoot in low light conditions without a super quick lens or flash. The Digic 4 processor offers better noise reduction at those high ISO levels. It’s still image formats are RAW (CR2 14-bit ), RAW (.CR2 14-bit ) + JPEG Large/Fine, JPEG (EXIF 2.21) - Fine, Normal. The view finder covers a full 95% frame coverage.
With a 3" LCD screen and 920,000 pixels and Up to 10x zoom playback you can see the detail in your work before you get home.

The T1i's sensor equipped with 15.1 million effective pixels, self cleaning dust removal and 9-point AF CMOS sensor ensuring sharp focus. 13 shooting modes and 8 White Balance (WB), 6 picture style selections with 3 user presets and WB bracketing +/-3 and WB fine-tuning will help you achieve the look you desire.
Also new Image processing modes such as Auto Lighting Optimizer (Basic and Creative modes), High ISO speed noise reduction, Peripheral illumination correction.

The Canon T1i is a user friendly camera and has a lot of bang for the buck. I highly recommend this camera to anyone who is interested in photography.
