also melts crayons well when they're sitting on the back dash in the car, as my mom discovered when we were kids.

Everyone with kids has one of those containers. I have it on good authority that Santa will be bringing the girls new Crayons for Christmas so we will have a whole new supply of old ones to play with!

Wish I'd been old enough and had read this from years ago when we still had our old crazy mish-mash crayon bonanza in an old cool-whip bowl... Liked the candle idea.

This actually reminds me of a book I read way back in...wait, hold on, I need to think.......4th grade? Anyway, it had all kinds of cool crafts that I still remember today...like flattening violets and leaves and later sticking them to candles with egg whites...

I miss that book. =)
