not much of what would of chosen (but much better job than i could've ever done). American Pie - Yes, definitly the greatest rock song of all time. Impressed with most of your choices and Ha your great taste in music (its alot like mine)but not a big The Who fan(still good music!), love the Stones. The one song i wished you of written about more was 'More than a feeling'', cause boston's musicis so misunderstood . it truly is infused with deep meaning(not blaming you /few know which i like somewhat. last, kashmir is jst as good as stairway to heaven

Michael- everyone will always put different things on a top 10 or 50 or 100- everyone has their own particular favorites plus those standards that we all know and love. I have to say- you put a hell of a lot of thought into this one and it's a really good reflection of some real understanding of good music.

Krider says KUDOS and I say SUDOK (Kudos backwards). This is a SUDOK list! Bravo!

notwithstanding (after all it is your list :o), this is a quality compilation. I'm just not sure all of these tunes can be termed "Rock". Surprised too there's no Rainbow song in there.

...I won't be getting any sleep tonight - I'll be thinking of songs all night. Three more just hit me that I would have on the list:

Sultans of Swing - Dire Straits
Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap - AC/DC
Over and Over - Dave Clark Five

That's it for now, my friend. Over and out.

...these are some songs that I would have in my top 100, in no certain order:

Ask Me Why - Beatles
Anna - Beatles
Get Off of My Cloud - Rolling Stones
Do You Want to Touch Me - Joan Jett
Surrender - Cheap Trick
Dream Police - Cheap Trick
Voulez-Vous - ABBA
Does Your Mother Know - ABBA
Tragedy - Bee Gees
Just Like Romeo and Juliet - Reflections
Twilight Zone - Golden Earring
Lightning is Striking Again - Lou Christie
Runaway - Del Shannon
Young Girls (Are Coming to the Canyon) - Mamas & Papas
House of the Rising Sun - Eric Burdon & Animals

I think I'll stop here because this list could go on forever. Your choices were superb - these are just some additions that I would incorporate into your list.

Happy Holidays!!

Regards,
David

Love your list - great memories; especially Van Morrison’s Moondance, which inspired many a fine time. But dude, Hey, Jude in the top 100? Aaarrrrrggggghhhh! Long enough for a bathroom break, but don’t let me out ‘till it’s over . . .

But hey, it is your list!

Thanks for the fun read,

Rick

Aretha Franklin's cover was a big hit, but I prefer the original by Otis Redding, who also wrote it. But is either rendition rock?

Are you too young to know what David Crosby was doing eight miles high? (If so, more hints are available from Jefferson Airplain's "White Rabbit", etc.)
