On "Romancing The Season" never saw that one with Katherine hepburn that took place during the Christmas season.
I'm printing your list and going to have a looking for these movies through the year. I shall be all ready by next Christmas with some good wholesome stories to watch :)
Many thanks for a most helpful review!
My best,
Carol

Two New Scrooge Movies (Reply to this comment)
by AinsleyJo
I saw a couple of Scrooge movies all the way through for the first time this year. One of them had Scrooge played by Patrick Stewart. I had seen part of that one before. The other where he was played by Kelsey Grammer was completely new to me. Enjoyed them both a lot.
A couple of female Scrooge movies: Ebbie and Ms. Scrooge are also among my favorites.
Merry Christmas Season!

I still need to see Desk Set and maybe Prancer - is that with John Corbett?

This was a fun list to make. Of course, when limited to 10 (or 12), I had a hard time narrowing it down. I might have to do another list just for the animated stuff since I included none of it here.

how you categorized this list. Some fun films here too!
And 12 films seems much more fitting for the Christmas season than 10. People can celebrate by watching one for each of the 12 days of Christmas!

Listmania! (Reply to this comment)

That is a great list. I'll have to show this one to my mom because she recently found a list of Christmas movies on MSN and didn't agree with over half of them. I think she went on to make her own Christmas list and that made me want to do one myself, but I like these.
Just recently saw Love Actually and thought it was really cute - but now I have to watch Scrooged because I do that every year and have yet to see it. Just have to make sure it didn't get thrown out with half of our other VHS tapes...otherwise it's off to the library I go!

Yup - people in the newsroom kept calling Katherine Hepburn to ask who Santa's Reindeer were. She could rattle them off instantly while Spencer Tracy was having trouble finding the information on the gigantic blinking box.
I always found it interesting the order she named the reindeer though (Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Cupid, Comet, Donner, Blitzen). This is not the order popularized by either of the songs I know that name them.

that "Home Alone" hasn't yet reached "classic" status. I'm sure that there are people for whom it is ancient, though!
I didn't remember that "Desk Set" took place in Yuletide.
