I say what I say because there aren't any black male soul artists with the kind of money behind them like John Legend. Which, in turn, lessens the likelihood that the same number of people that see him see better artists. Simply true.

thanks for the love

Great analyzation as usual even though I disagree with you on a few points.

I have heard other albums by Black male singers this year and I still think John Legend's album is good. I definitely plan on listening to all the ones you have recommended (after all you did introduce me to Amel Larrieux) but sometimes I think you assume ignorace when it isn't necessarily present. Of course, this comment is made respectfully.

My top ten list though has always been based more on what I enjoy and I know I have been guilty of enjoying what many people consider crappy.

I do have to admit Janet's album has grown on me since I originally posted my review.

I have to admit my biggest surprise is your lack of enthusiasm for Corinne Bailey Rae. To me she is such a fresh breeze on R&B. Her album is just so lush and inspired for me. Yet, I also know we all have different opinions. Its just something I thought you would like.

Anyway, great summary as usual :)
