I received a Scooba from irobot.com that didn't work
As was normal practice in the past for returning a product, I sent all of it back, because not knowing what was causing the problem it didn't make sense to send back what was called the "chassy only" (ie no 'accessories' which apparently included the charger and even the internal battery).
So I packaged it all up and sent it off to be returned and only after hearing nothing from them for about a month I contacted them to ask why I hadn't had my unit replaced. I eventually got one but it didn't include the viirtual wall, the charger, or even the battery, and after enquiring as to why, they replied that they don't return any accessories, and that even though I sent them back as a possible reason the unit didn't work I would have to pay for new ones.
Even if I had been told about this, it possibly would have made sense to not send back the virtual wall, even though it is not justified, but it does NOT make sense to consider an internal battery an accessory. It would be like sending back your cell phone with everything you got with it, not knowing in advance what was causing the cell phone to not work, and then getting a cell phone without battery or charger in its place.
So after using irobot.com to purchase my Scooba, I have to show for it not only receiving a disfunctional product, but also a bewilderingly strange and negative experience trying to replace it. I would suggest that people just buy theirs from Target or even Ebay as even a seller of a used unit on Ebay would make more effort than I received to please their customers with a working product that is complete with all necessary parts.
