Several years ago I discovered Snapfish.com when someone had sent me some photos to look at in an album. I didn't know what Snapfish was, but it intrigued me. Later, I realized you could upload photos from your computer and have them printed out and this is how I started on Snapfish.com. It seemed so much easier than the old-fashioned way of dropping off photo film at a drugstore, then coming to pick it up weeks later. I tried it, the prices were right and I liked it!
I started out buying photos that I had taken from my digital camera on my computer. The plus side to this is that you can see your photos on your computer, then you can fix them (red eye, center the photo and so on) and then buy the size you want. The prices are good (for instance they offer 4x9 prints for .09). That price is great! I never pay full price on Snapfish. If you sign up for their E-mail, they will send you coupon codes all the time (and sales on items). You can also google coupon codes or visit their front page (http://www.snapfish.com) and they sometimes post promotional codes (like your whole order 20% off or free shipping or something). This keeps prices low and I like deals!
I have also tried other companies like this for photos and photo products like Walgreens (http://www.walgreens.com), Kodak.com, Imagekind.com, Zazzle.com and Cafepress.com. I have to say Snapfish is one of my favorites for prints, Christmas photo cards and photobooks. Walgreens is also inexpensive, but they always seem to mess up my photos. Snapfish has never messed up my photos. It's easy to buy photos from them. You just sign up for an account. Then you upload photos from your computer that you would like. I find it uploads SUPER FAST compared to other sites. But around the holidays, it can be a bit slower (photobooks can be slower). I try to do these things via my laptop which is faster than my sit-down computer. Older computers will take much longer. You can upload several photos at a time by pushing the control key while selecting your photos. This makes it easy. Say I want 30 photos printed up, I select 30 pictures via my computer and they upload in about a minute. I then choose the sizes I want and quantity. You can choose matte or glossy finishes by just checking a box. They also offer 5x7's for $.79 and 8x10's for $2.99. I said 8x10's are $2.99!!! I emphasize that because I have easily paid $10 for an 8x10 at drugstores. It's just so easy to do and have it delivered to your door. If I remember, I've paid usually under $3 for shipping for my photos (I mean unless you have a huge or heavy order, the shipping is pretty reasonable).
My photos have turned out great and the big ones make excellent Christmas gifts for grandparents. Just buy a frame and you are set! Grandparents love a good 8x10 picture of the family. And you can do that all for an excellent deal. They send the photos usually in protective photo cardboard envelopes. I have also bought their photobooks and I am very, very impressed with those. They start at under $20, but the one I got was more like $30. I did not pay that, there was a free promotion and all I paid was the $7 for shipping. Even at $30, with a coupon code, it would be a good deal. I can put around 50 photos in a photobook and give it as a great Christmas gift to someone. I like to do this now, instead of get prints. A photobook is just like a book, but you design it and with pages and everything. There are one to several photos per page and you can put text (write words underneath) and come up with different designs. You can get a designed cover, the pages come designed and colored and even the front and back covers have photos on them. They really are high-quality and you just follow the directions and it's too easy to do. I recommend that you have a couple of hours to work on it, though or just work on it for awhile and then "save" it (under your account you signed up for) and come back to it later. I mean after all, it has twenty pages! The site will take you step by step and you can see your final result and what you see online is REALLY what you get in the mail. Talk about great gifts and saving memories. You can even scan your children's artwork and come up with some very creative and personalized books. You may want to do one book on your "trip overseas" or a "wedding" one, a new baby one or just of the family.
Snapfish also offers other items such as high-quality photo mugs, photo key chains (which I find a little overpriced at $18), greeting photo cards, calendars (which also make great gifts), posters, mouse pads, ornaments and more. You have to check out their site to see all the photo items they order and different sites offer different things. Snapfish is one of the only sites I know that offers photo jewelry. You can now pick up your Snapfish (if you don't want to pay shipping) at your local Walgreens or Walmart stores. I'd rather pay shipping and not wait in line. They also keep your photos in your albums in your account for up to a year, just log in yearly and they will keep them indefinitely. This makes it easy if you need to reorder any gifts or use the photos for another website. Their site is pretty self explanatory with a tab to order their items or a tab to upload photos and it explains it as you go. They accept credit or debit cards and no Paypal (which also takes it straight from your checking account). You can keep a track of past orders (just in case you want to reorder) and I've never needed to call on customer service. They ship out really fast, within days and I receive my items in a week or two at the most. I love my Snapfish account and plan on buying several more photo items from them in the future.
