The Best Love Stories and Date Movies, Romance is Never Out Of Style!

Jan 16 '07 (Updated Jan 21 '07)

The Bottom Line I hope you enjoy my list!

I am lovesick romantic who gets dreamy eyed and goosebumpy over well made Romance. I don't mind some action and drama and laugh but give me a good cry and a charismatic true Movie Star on the screen and a glass of wine and boy, are you going to get lucky!

Yes that comment was a straight hint to my Husband and he by now has figured this out quite well but here is some flicks he (and you!) might want to include for that perfect evening to snuggle on the couch with special someone..

10. DANCES WITH WOLVES (1990)

Kevin Costner really turns it on in this movie. What is it on the men in the uniforms! So Kevin plays a killing role as a Lt. John Dumbar, his eyes are a straight match for the bonfires in the Indians teepee country. Talk electrifying! Mix to the soup a pretty white girl who was raised by the Indians (Mary McDonnell) and show some wolves and you will not only get 7 Oscars but every living women to skip a few heartbeats!

9. GHOST (1990)

Okay I admit that the storyline is little out there with Patrick Swayze killed in the beginning but you get Demi Moores incredible performance as a lovesick widow and then is there any guy who looks better than Swayze without his shirt! Total grown up version of Dirty Dancing, don't forget to stack up the Kleenex. I never knew making pottery was so sexy before watching this movie! It got nodded by 2 Oscars.

8. PRETTY WOMAN (1990)

Either 1990 was a great year for romance or was it me being 19 that year.. But one must admit that Richard Gere is about as sexy as a man can be! He plays a businessman who ends up hiring a prostitute for social events. Julia Roberts makes one hot baby and seeing her in a bathtub might just get any guy acting little romantic! Need I say more.. Got one Oscar nomination.

7. URBAN COWBOY(1980)

John Travolta in a cowboy hat and tight jeans and called Bud.. Enough romance for me! Debra Winger looks also like one of the Charlie's Angels as Sissy so who cares if the script is not the most original. Plenty action on those mechanic bulls. No nods from the Academy, big nod from me.

6. LEGENDS OF THE FALL (1994)

Brad Pitt with his long hair placed in the early 1900 is almost too beautiful sight to see! Anthony Hopkins plays a great role in here too and Julia Ormond is just about as perfect love interest as a man can have. Just a must on my romance list. One Oscar.

5. AN OFFICER AND A GENTLEMAN (1982)

Every girls secret dream must be to be in Debra Wingers shoes when Richard Gere on a white suit sweeps her off her feet and carries away. This one is a true classic and if you have not seen it yet you've missed one of the greatest movies in my mind! 2 Oscars.

4. THE BODYGUARD (1992)

Kevin Costner delivers again as a bodyguard for Whitney Houston. The music here is just WOW and the sparks will fly from the beginning. The best soundtrack on my list by far! Got nominated for 2 Golden Boys.

3. REAR WINDOW (1954)

Peeking through the lens to see Grace Kelly on her window. This Hitchcock movie makes a perfect flick to cuddle with your loved one and get closer and closer.. Did I mention that James Stewart does not look too bad either? As close to a romantic movie as it gets with Hitchcock! Nominated for 4 Oscars.

2. WITNESS (1985)

Harrison Ford felling in love with totally hot Amish Girl played by Kelly McGillis. Steamy scene with Kelly naked taking an sponge bath. You did not see it yet? Some action and shooting around too so your man don't feel totally left out. 2 Oscars.

1.TOP GUN (1987)

Tom Cruise piloting a jet and driving a motorcycle. This is the movie that made him a super star! Plenty other good looking pilots in view and just a right amount of crying for a perfect romance. Kelly McGillis being super sexy little older love interest. Still gets my knees to buckle every time I see this movie. Beautiful soundtrack, it totally takes my breath away. Even younger folks get some action with those jets playing on the sky. One Oscar.
