Let me tell you, Acer group is a top-notch unknown computer brand based in Taiwan. They have regional operations around the world, including the United States. They make computer parts and cases, Travelmate laptops, scanners, and fax modems. Most of what they make, they make for other companies to slap on a big name label.
The Acer America website (www.aceramerica.com) is, well frankly, “coming soon”. That is what it says on the website. It has been that way for a long time now. The correct link is www.acer.com/aac. On their website is plain ole product information about their Travelmate laptops, and where to buy one. They are not retail, so they give you a list of resellers and dealers near you. What you also find on the Acer website is a comprehensive Service and support structure with information on how to go about fixing your computer, and downloads of patches and software. If you own an Acer product, you need to know about this website.
