Hey William!
Thanks for the food for thought! I do wonder if some of the bits you said din't make sense to you were perhaps because they're British colloquialisms? Looked okay to me... but I'd better re-read my own work. :-D
The sci-fi element doesn't really kick in till later, but it does so quite heavily... I think... haven't written much more than the first two chapters and some oddments yet!
I wanted Kim to be a very strong female character, and from working in cancer care I know that it's usually the patients themselves that deal with it much better. She has to be a strong character because something awful will happen to her later on.... [suspense]
Thanks for stopping by and for the comments, I'll certainly bear what you said in mind when I finally get back to working on this again.

Hi Dusty!
Glad you liked it. The sci-fi element is important to the story but I've tried to not rely to heavily on it, so hopefully even non sci-fi fans will enjoy it too.
Hopefully I can get this finished before the end of the year!
