Pros:Inexpensive media, small, good sound, easy to use
Cons:Slightly heavy, player makes noise while reading Clik! disks
The Bottom Line: If you don't mind the slight noise the HipZip makes and don't want to spend $100 buying memory cards, then the HipZip is the player for you.

I bought my HipZip because of its innovative concept. The 40MB PocketZip disks were only $10 a piece, a fraction of the price of memory cards. I could carry around 5 of them with 200MB of music compared to the 64MB of other players. I found the HipZip's interface to have a good, easy-to-use interface and the sound was good, especially considering I was using the Koss headphones that the player comes with. The disks worked well and I was able to carry around much more music than I could with other MP3 players. Compared with lugging around a stack of CDs and a Discman, the HipZip is very compact, although it is not the smallest MP3 player on the market. The only major problem I have with it is that the player makes the standard computer whirring noise while reading the disk, while occurs about every 1-2 minutes. This is fine if I'm alone or in noisy areas, but it makes it difficult to use in quiet rooms, such as at the library.
