I would not shop at egghead because I think they knowingly ship broken merchandise

I have used egghead to buy only 2 items.A CDRW drive and a pair of speakers.Both of them arrived on time and in undamaged boxes.Both were broken on arrival.
They made good on the speakers.In fact they just credited my charge card and told me to keep the broken speakers.$9
The cdrw drive appeared to be ok.I installed it only to find that the eject button does not work.I can still use it by opening it with the software.I am not about to take it out and send it back.
When I bought the cdrw there was supposed to be a rebate of $30 which made the price seem pretty good,but in order to get the rebate you must send in all the info they request.only you don't get all the info.so I wrote to them asking for what I needed.I did get what I needed after a long wait and the rebate expired before I had the info.
I did not recieve an answer to my letters after that.
