I have been a member of ebay for a while now, and I have to admit I've never bought or sold anything. I just like to watch the bids of people's items. I always think about buying items, but I can never bring myself to doing it. The rare items found on ebay are very attempting. Things you will never think of.
Personally, I think it is that I'm not sure if I will receive the item that I ordered. If you are a collector, you would just have to take your chances to trust a person to actually send you the item after you send them the check or money order.
A positive note is that Rosie auctions items off for charity on Ebay. I would trust buying an item from her auctions but who knows. My sister has bought many items off of ebay and she never had a problem receiving the items she purchased. On the other hand, my friend sent a money order to a person but never received her item. So, you will just have to use your own judgment whether or not you will trust an online stranger.
