Hello All & Good Day, I’m a Ph.D. student and as part of my research, I am investigating different types of online communities. Specifically, through an exploratory study of various online communities, I’m hoping to identify the technological and sociological factors that can help enhance and sustain user participation in online communities. Earlier, I had posted a request for Epinions members to participate and help me by completing an open-ended questionnaire available here: http://www.umar.biz/research/questionnaire/general/consent.html (the button at the bottom of the information/consent page will start the questionnaire) Thanks to a couple of people who’ve already completed the questionnaire. Subsequently, one of the members had suggested that this may be a better place to post my request. I’m hoping that others can share their reasons to be part of the Epinions online community and their own experiences in the time that they’ve spent here. This will be extremely valuable for my research. Again, I’m in the initial stages of my research and the questions I’m starting with are fairly open-ended. These will be refined at later stages. Completing the questionnaire won’t take too much of your time… I promise. Please Help.  |
